It was a bold, bold year in the world of beauty, with plenty of out-there trends.
Here are some of the most memorable beauty moments of 2011.
Lipstick Tattoos –Thanks to daring beauty brand Violent Lips, pouts got pretty this year courtesy temporary lip prints in all manner of designs including animal prints, polka dots, checkerboard, rainbow and fishnet. Yikes.
Cracked manicures –Nails got fierce and fabulous with shattered effect polishes including best-sellers from OPI and Barry M.
Pink Eye Shadow –As seen all over the 2011 runways, peepers went pink this year. The high-fashion trend was embraced by celebs including Katy Perry, Rihanna and Gwen Stefani who rocked the look with their trademark individuality.
Pastel hair –Move over bleach, step aside highlights. 2011 was the year of dip dying. From fabulous fuschia to show-stopping cerise, pink hair took over in the spring with fashion-forward types opting for peachier tones in the fall.
