One Direction's Niall Horan is not allowed to dye his signature blonde locks darker - on orders from Simon Cowell.
The British boy band - comprising of Niall, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne – have been climbing the global charts with their debut album, Up All Night.
The five-piece have garnered a loyal female following and are managed by Simon, who they have reportedly turned to for style advice of late.
When band member Niall asked the music mogul about darkening his tresses, Simon reportedly hit back with a no-nonsense answer.
“Simon still controls a lot about the band down to the finest detail. Niall was desperate to get rid of his blonde locks and go black just for an experiment, like loads of normal teens. Luckily, he had the sense to ask Simon first because he knows how he works," a source told British newspaper The Sun.
“He put in a text to him asking if he could change his hair colour. Simon was straight back on to him with a short reply, ‘No way.'"
The five-piece have been showcasing their talents Down Under, and took to their Twitter pages to thank fans for their continued support following their departure.
"Australia and new zealand thank you soo much for the amazing welcoming over the last few weeks, we love you all.can't wait for next year (sic)," Niall wrote on Twitter.
