Sometimes you really want to give a new beauty product, or three, a try but you’re either not sure where to get them, or whether or not they’re worth the money, right? Luckily there are now a number of companies that can help you out, doing all the hard work and research for you.
One of these is bellabox, it is a beauty service that caters to the needs of beauty lovers who are looking for the “next big thing”, but also for women new to the beauty world who are looking for a little guidance is what sorts of products they should invest it.
Basically, the beauty experts at bellabox – like managing director of the company Emily Hamilton, handpick five exclusive beauty products for you every month from a range of international brands. You pay $15 a month – or $165 per year – to get hold of these products; if you love something and want to continue to use it, you can also buy full-size versions on the website.
Just some of the brands available from bellabox include A'kin, Ahava, Annick Goutal, Aveda, Belif, Benefit, Candy Doll, Dermologica, Dr Dennis Gross, Elizabeth Arden, Herban Essentials, Korres, Laura Mercier, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, OPI, Pangea Organics and Skinfactory; and as you can see, many of them are all-natural or organic products.
Emily Hamilton and her sister Sarah, set up bellabox last year after a career first in the pharmaceutical industry in Switzerland, followed by jobs in the UK’s advertising world. She’s also worked with major mobile companies, but her true love is beauty and skincare.
We asked Emily to give us her four “must have” beauty items; check out what she recommends below.
Pangea Organics Lip Balm, $14.50
"Lip Balm is a daily addition for me and I know I am not alone! I have tried them all and unlike other lip balms, the Pangea lip balm contains a base of deep-moisturising organic oils, which gives it an longer lasting nourishing quality. My favourite flavour at the moment is the Pyrenees Lavender with Cardamon – super soothing!"
Twistband, from $6.50
"Singapore’s hot and humid weather frequently means I'm searching for a hair tie to tie my hair up. Before I discovered Twistbands I would constantly receive a telling off from my hairdresser who would point out the line of breakage in my hair. No more! These chic ties come in a rainbow kaleidoscope of colours, are soft and sleek so they don't damage my hair or leave an imprint and I can wear them easily on my wrist when I decide to let my hair down. In other words they tick all the boxes and my hairdresser has approved them too!"
Savoir Faire Lipgloss, $35
"Along with my lip balm addiction, I love a good lip gloss for a polished, hi-shine look and I've become addicted to Savoir Faire Lipgloss. There is nothing worse than leaving the house with lipgloss on, walk into a breeze and find your hair stuck all over your face! Savoir Faire have produced a non-sticky, lightweight gloss which is still moisturising and shiny. While they have a wardrobe of colours to choose from my current obsession is Lolita, a peach coloured gloss that just sets off my tan and suits the nude makeup look I prefer. It even has a delightful peaches and cream scent too.
LAQA & Co. Nail Polish Pen, $19.50
"As a busy woman on the go I'm always on the lookout for products that are high performance and time efficient. The Laqa & Co. nail polish pens fit the bill perfectly, I can carry them in my bag and perfect my nails on the run. This season's range is full of bright, high gloss colours that look like they've stepped right off the catwalk, and help me to bring a pop of colour to a normal workday outfit."
