Heading off to a festival this Summer? Then make sure your hair is suitably fabulous.
But forget going glam, this season’s festival look is effortlessly undone.
Struggling for hairstyle inspiration? Then why not take tips from session stylist extraordinaire Marc Trinder.
Here are his tips for the ultimate boho festival braid.
1. Before you start, give your hair a matt texture. Apply Charles Worthington Takeaways On the Go Dry Shampoo onto your roots, allow it to settle, then massage in.
2. Backcomb the top section of your hair, from the hairline to the crown with a tail comb. Aim for one inch of height from the top of your head to inject the extra body and height.
3. Finger through your hair for a tousled look, then loosely sweep it across to one side, folding the hair over itself.
4. Secure hair at the nape of the neck with a kirby grip, allowing random strands to fall around the face.
5. Create the plait by parting the ponytail in two. Take a small section from underneath the left plait and cross over onto the right. That piece then becomes part of the right plait. Repeat with the right crossing over to the left. You should always keep two pieces of hair only. Fishtail plait all the way to the bottom and secure at the end with a snag-free hair-band. Leave two-to-three inches of length at the end to form a fishtail.
6. Add body and texture to the plait by massaging it with your fingers in a circular motion, so random strands are allowed to come loose. © Cover Media
