Rihanna to launch “more personal” fragrance

Rihanna is set to launch a third "more personal" fragrance.

The superstar will release Nude by Rihanna in American chain store Macy's from next week.

The 24-year-old described the new perfume as being a "seductive floral oriental" blend of aromas, which aim to bring thoughts of "glistening" skin to mind.

Rihanna's latest offering differs from her first two rebel-exploring fragrances, Reb’l Fleur and Rebelle.

“When creating my first scent, Reb’l Fleur, I wanted it to be a really strong scent — daring and bold,” Rihanna revealed to WWD. “I have gotten more personal with Nude.”

Rihanna chose notes that reminded her of growing up in Saint Michael, Barbados.

The composition includes guava nectar, mandarin and pear as well as orange blossom, gardenia petals and vanilla orchid ingredients.

An alternate image has been created for retail distribution when the fragrance launches in Macy's on Black Friday.

Black Friday is the name given to the day after the Thanksgiving Holiday in the US and marks the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.

This year it falls on the November 23, which is a week after Rihanna’s new album, Unapologetic, is released in the US.

“I named my album Unapologetic  because there is only one truth, and you can’t apologise for that,” Rihanna explained.

The star also alluded to the possibility of creating a cosmetics or hair-care line in the future.

“It’s honest. I’m always evolving of course. I think the only motto I have is to be true to myself," she said. © Cover Media
