What: This mascara base from Ettusais is said to help keep your lashes curled and stay glossy all day. It also contains lash treatment ingredients that lengthens and gives extra volume, all while helping our mascara to stay on. The comb-like wand is specially designed to help with the ease of application.
Ettusais Lash Version Up retails for $28 and is available from December 2012 onwards at Ettusais counters located at various BHG, Isetan and Metro stores islandwide.
Review: My lashes, are known to be the “floppiest” lashes in the history of lashes. OK that may just be bordering on hyperbole, but it’s the truth that my lashes love gravity. Two hours after crimping, curling and slapping on mascara, they flop back to their original non-curled state.
I was keen to try the latest Ettusais Lash Version Up, as it’s supposed to help your mascara stay on and keep your lashes curled like that of kewpie dolls.
I like the fact that this formula is in black, unlike some mascara bases that are usually available in white. The white ones tend to stay white, even after you put on your mascara, leaving weird white bits on your lashes. So with a black base, that problem is eliminated.
Plus, the non-drying formula helps with the way the lashes look. Certain types of mascara base that are too drying make your lashes look hard and brittle, almost clumping up at times – and, that is even before mascara is applied.
The Ettusais Lash Version Up felt moisturising to the lash when applied. It coated the lash with a glossy layer and gave it a “lift” at the same time.
It also slid onto the lash very easily and kept the surface of the lash smooth, ready to take on a layer of mascara.
Plus, it felt very lightweight and did not weigh the lash down.
Although it didn’t keep my lashes from flopping after a long 12-hour day, it did allow it to stay on longer than any other mascara base without clumping my lashes!
