Nude was the nail hue of choice at Peter Pilotto, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino and Marc Jacobs’ Spring/Summer 13 runway shows.
So, it’s no surprise to hear that 2013 is being hailed as the year of the ‘mannequin manicure’.
Nude nails are certainly not a new trend, but this season’s version is a gorgeously luxe twist on the failsafe tan, taupe and putty polishes.
“Spring/summer 2013 is all about nude shades with an ultra high glossy finish,” says runway manicurist David Barton, who has tended the nails of countless top models.
“Dior are about to launch a beautiful collection of soft nude shades, the colours have been created with all skin tones in mind so there is a colour that will suit everyone,” he adds.
