Tumbling boho waves were the order of the day at the Fall/Winter 13 Rodarte runway shows.
Looser than curls yet more voluminous than beachy waves, the runway look is a sure-fire way to work a dash of fashion into your everyday life.
As with most wave-centred looks, texture is key. There’s no point in trying to curl freshly-washed hair as it’ll be too shiny and slippery to get any grip.
Either wash your hair a couple of day beforehand or invest in some texturising products.

Here are Darren’s top tips for creating a gorgeous Rodarte-inspired do.
1. First shampoo your hair using volume shampoo, such as those by SP Wella. Don’t worry about conditioner and instead comb through using a lightweight conditioner spray.
2. Next, use a volumising mouse such as Thickefy Foam from Sebastian – it’s a weightless thickening foam which will give you pumped up volume without the weight. And add a spritz of sea salt spray to dirty the hair up.
3. Now, rough dry your hair creating a natural texture and to add more definition use tongs to create curls sporadically over the head.
4. If you want to copy the Rodarte look precisely, then take two panels at the front of the head and plait each of them loosely. Now, pull to the back of the head and twist into a chignon.
5. Then underneath the chignon, make a single plait and let it fall naturally. © Cover Media
