Want to rock a super-hot trend this Spring? Then why not embrace the runway passion for all things fluro. But instead of focusing in on your eyes, look to your lips for colour inspiration. We caught up with celebrity makeup artist Krystal Dawn to find out which ultra-bright runway looks caught her eye – and how she recommends trialling the beautifully bold trend.

“The fluro orange-red lips at the Missoni Spring/Summer 13 show were brilliant but it’s definitely not a look for the shy,” says Krystal.

“If you’re feeling brave, why not try colours such as Illamasqua lipstick in Flare, or for a cheaper alternative try Sleek Lipstick in Tangerine Scream.

“If the bright bold lipsticks are daunting, Bobbi Brown have a great lip gloss called Citrus which can also be applied on top of any lipstick and may also be a good alternative for paler skin for use on its own or on top of a peach lipstick,” she adds.

But is orange a hue that will suit everyone? We quizzed Krystal to find out.

“Orange does generally suit olive skin tones better but the pale beauties shouldn't miss out,” she says.

“Peachy coral toned lipsticks are a great alternative such as Ravishing by M.A.C or Bobbi Brown Calypso Coral Pot Rouge for lips and cheeks.

“One of my favourites that would be suitable for pale and olive skins is Lime Crime Velvetine Lipstick in Suedeberry.

“It advertises as strawberry red but I find it’s actually more of a bright orange/red.

“To wear the orange lip look I'd advise the rest of the makeup to be subtle, a liner and mascara would look great,” she adds. © Cover Media/ Photo: Showbit
