Super-strong metallics were the eye hue of choice at the Chanel Spring/Summer 13 runway show.
But rather than opting for luxe gold and bronze, legendary makeup artist Peter Phillips used high-shine platinum on the models’ eyelids.
"The inspiration of this look is a few key words that Karl Lagerfeld gave me - shine, focus on eyes and silver,” said Peter, as the models took to the runway.
“For this show I exclusively created a platinum shade which you can apply sheer, for a subtle luminous effect, or for a metallic result you can put a thick layer," he added.
Fancy recreating the supersonic look? We caught up with top makeup artist Lyndsey Harrison to discover how she would create Chanel-inspired peepers.
“I thought the Chanel platinum eyes were stunning on the runway. It's not an everyday look but it’s one that is easy to translate into a more subtle evening look,” says Lyndsey, who has beautified with a whole host of A-Listers.
“To create this look I would use a rich shade all over the whole base of the eye.
“Try Rimmel London Glam Eyes Mono in Glam Ice or Night Jewel depending on how dark you want the grey.
“Or alternatively, Chanel's Ombre Essentielle Eyeshadow in Infinity.
“Next, line the eye with a liquid liner but I would just line the lid not all the way around the eye.
“Try Revlon's ColourStay Liquid Eye Liner pen which is very easy to use.
“If you do want to make the look more dramatic then prime the eye with Bobbi Brown Metallic Long Wear Cream Shadow in shade Mercury - it will intensify the shadow,” she adds. © Cover Media/ Photo: Showbit
