Serbian-born, London-based designer Roksanda Ilincic collaborates with The Albers Foundation to create a special capsule collection for Cruise 2014 exclusively for Net-A-Porter.com.
These 10 pieces have been inspired by the work of legendary artist Josef Albers. Known for his Homage to the Square series and his play with colour, the collaborative effort is in line with Ilincic’s design aesthetics that involve plenty of colour. Her day and cocktail dresses have an elegant silhouette but she has never shied away from liberally using vibrant hues.
The capsule collection of 10 pieces is only available on Net-A-Porter.com. Look out for four show-stopping demi-couture heavy marocain silk gowns in colour-blocked prints. Ilincic also has designed separates in classic cuts and extraordinary colours, like a pair of high-waisted wool-crepe shorts in a brilliant fuchsia.
Holli Rogers, Net-A-Porter.com’s fashion director, said, “We are thrilled to be the exclusive retailer of this collaboration between two creative talents. Net-A-Porter.com has stocked Roksanda Ilincic since 2008 and she continues to excite us every season. In this partnership, she has successfully incorporated Josef Albers’ remarkable sense of colour with her unique designs to produce a truly sophisticated and elegant collection, which our customers will love.”
Ilinicic adds: “The paintings of artist Josef Albers have been a great inspiration to my work, not just in terms of his extraordinary use of colour, but also for the great impact of his paintings, which he has managed to achieve by using minimal technique and shapes.”
The Roksanda Ilincic Cruise 2014 capsule collection will be available exclusively at www.net-a-porter.com from November 15, 2013. You can follow the shopping site on Facebook at www.facebook.com/netaporter; on Twitter at @NETAPORTER and on Instagram at @NETAPORTER.
