Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival has just wrapped up. The fashion event spanned seven days from March 17 to 23, 2014 and judging from the latest Autumn Winter 2014 designs walking the runway, showcased the looks that will be trending in-store.

This season sees the rise of pastels and feminine chic dressing, featuring elegant lengths and ladylike silhouettes that hark back to a decade long forgotten. The return of red was prominent too, with most designers featuring a pop of this colour in their latest collections.

Fashionistas and key industry personalities descended upon the Melbourne Docklands. The venue was bustling with activity with L’Oreal makeover tents, Ted Baker photobooth fun, Lavazza coffee tastings, plus drinks and canapés at the Rekorderlig bar. The festival’s principal makeup sponsor L’Oreal brought some international star power to the event by flying in Eva Longoria and a pregnant Megan Gale to Melbourne.
