When it’s comes to stand out street style, no one else compares to Susanna Lau aka Susie Bubble. We attempt to help you copy her seemingly inimitable style – loud colours and kitschy details included
Article:

If there’s anyone to inherit Anna Dello Russo’s – Vogue Japan’s editor-at-large – crown of undisputed queen of over-the-top street style, it has to be Susanna Lau. The London-based blogger behind fashion website Style Bubble is one of the most photographed and most recognisable fashion individuals at every fashion week, just like Dello Russo. And like the editor, Lau also has a penchant for bold hues and patterns that she mixes and matches to surprisingly great effect.

Fondly known as Susie Bubble, the blogger has a way of throwing on psychedelic pieces so easily that whenever we see a street style picture of her, we are convinced that an acid-green jacket is indeed wearable. Lau believes in the saying “more and more” and takes every opportunity to dress up. She’s an unabashed maximalist – a breath of fresh air amongst Phoebe Philo minimalists.

So gear up because we are going to try to put method to the madness that is Susie Bubble’s style.

Colour and prints

Needless to say, colour is a huge part of Lau’s winning fashion. She doesn’t shy from crystal embellished Christopher Kane coats and is a great advocate of mixing prints. Florals and ginghams? Bring it on!

Go all out and pair a poppy-themed T-shirt with a girlie floral full skirt. If you are hesitant, take baby steps with dresses in both bold colours and interesting prints – there’s no compromising on either in Lau’s world.

Stand out accessory

Despite being a maximalist, Lau’s necks and wrists are normally surprisingly bare. Instead of arm parties, the blogger chooses to accessorise with one practical piece – headphones. That’s something we all can get on board with. She likes her headphones so much that she even wore a faux headphone Chanel necklace from the Spring Summer 2014 collection during the Autumn Winter 2014 fashion week season.

Clockwise from top: Chanel silver metal necklace with oversize pearls; Sony wireless MDR-ZX750BN headphones, $249, at all Sony stores and authorised outlets; Jabra Ink Treasure Revo Wireless headphones will be available at Audi Fashion Festival 2014 Styling The City Global Fashion Café at ION Orchard Atrium from April 16 to May 18, 2014

While the Chanel necklace is on top of our wishlist, we assure you that these Sony and Jabra headphones are equally Susie Bubble chic.
