If you’re looking for something a little different, something that’s not the same as every other cookie cutter outfit, gift or home decor item, then you need to check out new store Little Man.
Opened recently by the designer behind Singapore fashion label Al&Alicia, Alicia Ong, and Ian Yeo – founder of Architecture & Interior Design firm JIAN Associates – this new shop is full of fascinating bits and pieces.
Named after an imaginary character the pair came up with, the brand’s persona, the store even has items and shop fittings placed at a lower level to suit the “little man’s” perspective. This “unique perspective” is the basis of the store’s juxtaposition of fashion, design pieces and homewares.
According to owners Alicia and Ian, the shop’s content will be “always evolving” but currently you can find brands like Silas & Maria, Aiste Nesterovaite, Hayden Harnett, Obey, A For Apple, HAY Furniture, RAEN Optics, Popaganda and Traveler’s Notebook as well as Alicia’s fashion label Al&Alicia.
Aiste Nesterovaite creates cool geometric prints on aprons, bags and scaves; A For Apple is a great little children’s wear label made of eco-friendly materials and organic cotton; Hay is a Danish furniture brand that focuses on top end design at affordable prices and Hayden Harnett accessories and bag brand is known for combining modern materials and classic designs.
If you know your streetwear then you’ll recognise the label Silas & Maria; originally a British brand, this cult label moved to Japan in 2006 but it remains one of the UK’s top streetwear brands known for top quality design.
