NEW YORK - Victoria Beckham impressed with a military-inspired show at New York Fashion week over the weekend.
The singer-turned-designer showcased her Fall/Winter 2012 collection on Sunday, which featured the form-fitting dresses that the star is best known for.
Having launched the more casual Victoria by Victoria Beckham line recently, the fashionista returned to her elegant silhouette designs that made her name in the fashion sphere.
Her newest collection boasted an array of curve-hugging dresses, in a colour palette of khaki green, brown and cream.
Despite the line being quintessentially feminine, the underlying military and baseball themes gave the collection some edge.
“I’m living and breathing sport having so many boys in the house,” she revealed to WWD during a preview.
Models strutted down the runway in a host of mini and mid-length dresses.
One forest green dress was traced in black at the arms and sleeves, other dresses boasted harness-inspired detailing.
The frocks were also given a hint of playfulness with a range of necklines.
Décolletages were on show with more revealing designs, while some were quirky with leather shirt collars. The dresses showed off the models’ figures with slick black belts.
Victoria’s new line also featured a selection of elegant coats which were peppered throughout the runway show.
The star’s New York fashion show was a family affair – soccer star husband David and baby daughter Harper were on hand for moral support.
