Welcome to the runway show of the future.

Unlike most shows at the New York Fashion Week, this particular show was not held at the famed Lincoln Center tent or some obscure warehouse in the middle of nowhere.

Instead, designer Prabal Gurung chose to showcase his latest collection online, where everyone is guaranteed to have a front row seat and the show actually started on time.

A revolutionary designer, Gurung is definitely not one to play it safe. He took things to the next level when he signed on to design for International Concept Brand (ICB) and ventured even further when he agreed to stage his show online as part of a new initiative by public relations firm KCD.

The result? A colourful kaleidoscope of prints and textures. Jackets in bright hues, tuxedo-style blazers, dresses with bold prints and striking solid shades were all seen on the runway. A mish-mash of textures featuring leather juxtaposed against other fabrics were a highlight as well, bringing an edge to the ICB woman.

Even the accessories bring a touch of fun to the runway.

Makeup powerhouse M.A.C was also in charge of creating the perfect beauty look for the new collection.

According to makeup artist, Gordon Espinet, "The look I created for the ICB FW2012 collection was inspired by a woman with an effortless approach to beauty. She wants to look good but not necessarily done. There is a naturalness about this look but it's not meant to be girly or sweet. It's better described as cool, modern, and 'in the know'."

And cool, they sure were. We love the natural effortless look created by prepping the skin with M.A.C. Care Blends Essential Oils and M.A.C Prime Future before creating the base with M.A.C Face and Body Foundation and M.A.C Mineralize Concealer.

Instead of using the usual blush technique, M.A.C Cremeblend Blush in So Sweet, So Easy was patted into the centre of the models’ cheeks to give off a slightly flushed appearance, almost as though they had just been out in the cold during winter.

Lids were coloured in with the M.A.C PRO Cream Colour Base in Mid-Tone Sepia, to give off the dark circle effect while M.A.C Technakohl Eyeliner in Earthline was used in the crease.

Keeping lips nude, the M.A.C PRO Lip Erase in Pale was applied.

A front row seat without the need to dress up, plus close-up views of accessories and beauty looks – we’re fans of the virtual runway show already.
