K-Drama starlet Kim Min-hee looking appropriately military in her gorgeous green coat
I’m still gagging from the beyond beautiful backstage looks spotted at Burberry’s Autumn 2015 show. Hot damn, Wendy Rowe’s gone and done it again.
The makeup maestro and living legend – man, what won’t I give to be a fly on her moodboard wall – served up a supremely wearable combo of softly smudged eyes and perfectly pink puckers, but what’s really, really driving me crazy is the Brit brand’s crazy-cool packaging.
Camou palette in tasteful taupe and cool khaki? A thousand times yes, please! Say what you want about all the shearling and suede on the runway itself, but this right here is giving me the “feels” – so louche and loose, so bold and distinctly British.
Best thing yet? Working this camouflage palette into your everyday look is a complete no-brainer. Smokey bedroom blinkers are still the gold standard in seduction, but the trick to not looking like a bridal catalogue model is in softening the harsh edges on your socket. That means swirling your brush around and blending like your life depended upon it.
And while I’m playing makeup consultant, I might as well give you what I consider to be the single best beauty rule to live by: Always think about bringing proportion and balance to the face.
Because the “new” smokey is so discreet and demure, you’ll need to toughen things up with this trove of nail-bitingly lush lacquers.
The #LE hues in Cadet Green, Khaki Green and Poppy Black are totally complementary to the camouflage eye palette, but harder hitting and so easy to pair with anything, really.
Matchy-matchy camou eyes and nails? Looks like it’s Ah Boys to Men for us beauty recruits this season!
