Our event emcee, Charmaine Yee, taking a selfie with the Her World team
If you had been in the vicinity of B4 Ion Station at Ion Orchard on February 26, 2015, you would have noticed a larger-than-life cover of our magazine’s March issue as well as a huge backdrop featuring the, ahem, lovely faces of the Her World editorial team.

The editors and writers were there in person too, to sell the magazine in the name of charity. All the proceeds from the day’s sale benefitted the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO).

This event kicked off Her World’s 55th anniversary celebrations, and readers got to celebrate with us – those who bought the magazine at the Her World Gives Back booth were rewarded with a free scoop of Haagen-Dazs ice cream and a free three-month subscription to the digital edition of Her World. All that for just $6!

The charity event was held in two sessions, one at 12pm and the other at 6.30pm. Fly entertainment artiste Bobby Tonelli, and host of The Lush Life on Lush 99.5FM, Tracy Phillips also took time out of their busy schedules to join us at the charity sale. Together, we sold over 345 copies and raised over $2,000 as a result.

“I want to thank Her World for all its efforts. The proceeds will go towards advancing women’s interests and helping SCWO in its initiatives, such as our shelter for abused women and children, counselling services and an IT hub which runs courses to help women advance in their careers,” says Malathi Das, president of SCWO.
