Tyra Banks has reportedly let go J. Alexander, Jay Manuel and Nigel Barker from America’s Next Top Model.
The supermodel is renowned for making changes to the US reality TV competition to help keep it fresh. It’s now been claimed she has decided against using the three men in upcoming seasons.
Photographer Nigel was on the judging panel, Jay acted as creative director on the show while J. helped get the wannabe models catwalk ready. They all started work on the show when it first began production in 2003.
Executive producer Ken Mok has seemingly confirmed the changes.
“Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel and J. Alexander have been an integral part of the America’s Next Top Model brand and they helped turn this show into the household name it is today,” he told New York Post in a statement. “They have been amazing assets to the show and will always be a part of the Top Model family. We will continue to actively work with each of them on future projects.”
It’s thought Tyra delivered the bad news to the men yesterday.
The shake-up is rumoured to be part of a massive overhaul planned for the next series, with social media being introduced – possibly by the inclusion of some famous fashion bloggers.
This is the latest in a round of changes which saw Vogue star Andre Leon Talley leave the programme, with PR guru Kelly Cutrone taking his seat on the judging panel. - © Cover Media
