This year, skincare brand Biotherm has undergone a makeover. This includes new packaging and new ingredients for their creams and serums.
As a part of their new image, the brand has teamed up with Swedish illustrator Ingela Arrhenius to come up with a new design for products, as well as the Christmas gift packages. The collaboration is expected to be most successful in parts of Asia, where Arrhenius has a solid fan base.
“I’m excited about doing something this big”, the artist told Cover Media.
“I am sitting in my little studio in a suburb in Sweden and creating something that will be shown across the world. That is so much fun!”
Arrhenius takes inspiration from the 1950s and 1960s and has previously designed everything from food packaging to shop windows. Her playful vintage style is very much in vogue today, where retro styles are fashionable.
“I’ve had the same style for 20 years, my graphics have been the same since I did my Art course in 1992. Sometimes it’s popular, sometimes it’s not. I am just lucky to be doing well at the moment," she laughed.
Arrhenius recalled the day she got the call from L'Oréal-owned Biotherm and was whisked away to Paris to discuss the details.
“I’ve never been anywhere just for the day like that!" she gushed. "I had to buy new shoes and a new coat for the trip. I splashed on some Biotherm fragrance for good luck, and it all went well.” © Cover Media
