Stella McCartney showed a relaxed line at Paris Fashion Week this morning.

The British designer's Spring/Summer 13 offering comes after a busy year of designing Team GB's Olympic kit and opening the label's first directly-operated store in Shanghai.

Stella presented a highly wearable line in the French capital, opting for slouchy, low-slung pieces that could easily be seen on the average woman day-to-day.

Backstage, Stella said the collection was about “crispness and fragility”.

Sleeveless shift dresses in a range of colours dominated the runway, reaching just below the knee for a chic and elegant look.

Frocks were given a masculine edge with the sports luxe feel Stella is famed for, while others made a statement with bold tailoring.

While one dress boasted yellow, white and grey panelling for a fresh look, another teamed a structured grey suit jacket-style top which was layered over a white under-fabric.

Stella noted the sporty inspiration in her newest collection.

"You know, people always say that about me and I think I always do because that's the masculine element," she said.

The colour palette screamed sport chic too, with oranges, greens and blues all making an appearance on the catwalk.

Oversized jumpers also added to the casual vibe of the line. They came in sheer, light fabrics for an understated look while low-crotch trousers also added to the relaxed proceedings.

Stella was careful not to ignore the feminine elements of her newest line. These came in the way of stunning tea-style dresses, that came in muted colours for a charming appeal.

Peach and blue marble print hues made an appearance while broderie anglaise was also woven into the pretty appeal.

The fashion designer's much anticipated runway attracted a range of stars including Salma Hayek and Kate Moss.

Also showing today are Giambattista Valli and Saint Laurent, while Chanel, Valentino and Alexander McQueen are all set to show tomorrow. - COVER MEDIA
