Korean holistic skincare brand Sulwhasoo (say: Soul-wha-soo) which opened its first counter in Singapore at Tangs Orchard in 2012, has launched its first ever whitening range, Snowise EX.
While most of us shun the sun knowing that UV rays deeply root age spots and blemishes, Sulwhasoo has reportedly discovered a second type of ray present in sunlight that causes premature ageing as well as uneven skin tone – Infrared Rays.
Sulwhasoo says it has found that the heat from Infrared Rays lowers anti-oxidant levels in the skin, damaging the collagen in the skin’s dermis which leads to dull skin tone and yellowing.
In Korean medicinal terms, ‘inner heat’ has an impact on complexion. Sulwhasoo says the optimal temperature for a clear and radiant complexion is at 30 to 31 deg C. However, when skin is exposed to Infrared Rays, the skin’s temperature rises to a high of 40 deg C and if not adequately cooled, impurities can accumulate in the skin which can then lead to skin fatigue, dehydration and pigmentation.
To restore radiance and rejuvenate skin that is exhausted from the heat, Sulwhasoo formulated their whitening range with the exclusive Snowise Tri-White Complex. This three-dimensional whitening approach uses White Ginseng Saponin to treat UV damage, White Cloud Grass to stop Infrared Rays damage, and White Ginseng Polysaccharides to slow ageing-related damage.
